Wondering how to make WhatsApp group from Excel? Well, follow these simple steps to create a WhatsApp group from an Excel file:

1. First, open an Excel file. Or, you can open Google Sheets on your web browser.
2. Now, in the first column, add ‘Name’, and in the second column, add ‘Phone number’ of the contact you want to add to a group. You can add an identifier term to these names, for example, we used ST. This will help us search and retrieve bulk contacts later.
3. Save the file if you are using the Excel app on your desktop. But if you are using Google Sheets, go to the File menu > Download > Comma-separated values (.csv).
4. Now, go to Google Contacts web app and click on Import from the left panel.
5. Click on ‘Select file’. Then, locate your Excel sheet file and click Import.
6. After importing the contacts from Excel, open your WhatsApp.
7. Now, create a new group. To add participants, search for the identifier term ST and select all contacts.

Yes, you can create a WhatsApp group from an Excel file on your phone. To do this, first, you need to transfer your Excel file (in form of CSV file) to your smartphone. If you have saved contacts on Google Sheets, you access them by downloading the Sheets app from the Play Store. Then, download the contacts Sheet file (as .csv file) on your smartphone.

Note: When adding contacts to your Excel file, insert an identifier term (for example, we are using ST) as a prefix of each name. This will help you find them quickly.

Next, you can import these contacts from your smartphone’s settings. To do this, go to Settings and search for ‘import contacts’. Then, select the file from your phone storage and upload it.

No, you can’t add someone to the group without their permission. WhatsApp allows its users to choose whether they want someone to add them to a group or not.
If they have selected ‘Everyone’ in the settings, you can easily add them to your WhatsApp group. But if they have excluded you or if your number is not saved in their phones, you can’t add them to your group.
Although, you can still send them a group invite link privately. If they accept the invite, they’ll be automatically added to your group.
